Aniya Nandy
Makeup & Hair
Makeup Artist Aniya Nandy has been a constant in the industry for the last 16 years. Her start began as a theatre major at Cawthra Arts High School where her eyes were opened to the different career possibilities within the creative field, one of which being makeup. From there, she went on to study makeup and hair techniques at Sheridan College and later began her career at MAC cosmetics quickly developing her skills while working with some of Toronto's top photographers and stylists.
Aniya's print and editorial work has appeared in multiple publications over the years including Fashion Magazine, Nuvo, Variety, Coveteur, Vogue Italia, The Kit, Sharp, Pure Luxury, Elle Croatia, Elle Serbia & The Globe & Mail. Aniya also has an extensive advertising client list with repeat clients like Adidas, Lululemon, Hudson's Bay, TRESemmé, Tkees, Joel Joseph, Hestia Jewels, Estee Lauder, TSC, Reebok, Nike, Ikea, IT Cosmetics & Ellie Mae Studios. Aniya has also been a contributor and received coverage in the Globe & Mail, Chatelaine, The Kit, Refinery 29, Elle.com & Hello Canada. In 2022 Aniya was one of the judges for the 2022 Beauty Awards with Chatelaine Magazine & Fashion Magazine.
Aniya's strong work ethic, ambition, attention to detail and cultivation of her own unique aesthetic led her to live and work in New York City where she participated in eight seasons of NYFW working shows for designers and brands like Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, Ralph Lauren, Helmut Lang, Naeem Khan and Victoria's Secret. Today Aniya lives and works in Los Angeles where she is quickly developing a name for herself in the industry.
Aniya's work has also led her to work with a number of celebrity clients including Richard Roundtree, Imaan Hammam, Elektra Kilbey, Nina Dobrev, Tessa Virtue, Ralph, Nnamdi Asomugh, Amirah Vann, Jeremy Scott, Drake, Patrick J. Adams & Nick Jonas to name a few.
Aniya's artistry and strong creative vision have always been at the forefront of her career. Known for creating works with long lasting and timeless feeling, Aniya prioritizes classically beautiful beauty. Not fussed with gimmicky trends or fads, great luminous skin goes a long way in creating images that stand the test of time. Showcasing the natural beauty of a model or talent is also important, especially when it comes to highlighting marginalized bodies. "Growing up it was rare to see someone that looked like me in the media, let alone the fashion and beauty industry. Once I started to work in the industry I realized the importance of creating those images and making a concerted effort to change the narrative."
Her affable personality and versatility make her not only an essential asset on set, but also a force to be reckoned with in our industry.
