On & Off-Figure Stylist
Jay Barnett, an extraordinarily creative off-figure stylist has an instinctive ability to incorporate art for visually appealing results. Although it would appear that with his talent today, he was always destined to be in this field, he actually began his career with the intention of being a fashion designer and pursued a degree in Fashion Design at Sheridan but quickly realized that with his artistic ability he belonged in Visual Arts.
After graduating, Jay managed women's fashion for visual displays at Holt Renfrew and Creeds. His career flourished in off-figure, combining skill and art to provide beautiful advertising campaigns with many notable international clients, including Cole Haan, Lane Crawford and The Limited. His talent has afforded him the ability to travel the world for assignments, including London, Tokyo and Iceland. One loyal client trusted Jay to deliver his impeccable taste that they flew him to Hong Kong each season.
Jay's compassionate nature has led him to volunteer his services for events hosted by the Canadian Cancer Society, Fashion Cares and the Design Exchange.
His extensive list of advertising clients includes print campaigns with Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, Winners and The Shoe Company. His editorial work has appeared in many magazines including Flare, Harry, and FASHION to name a few. Jay continues to establish himself, striving to create fresh and innovative design, bringing an effective and sophisticated art form to his craft.
