Serge Kerbel
Off-Figure & Fashion Stylist
Russian-born fashion stylist Serge Kerbel began his styling career in London. After moving west to Los Angeles to further his pursuits in fashion, Serge eventually moved to Toronto, where he had the opportunity to work with fashion designers Crystal Siemens on the preparation of both collections and fashion shows.
Serge's skill set has also welcomed opportunities in publishing where he has garnered a significant reputation as Photo and Fashion Editor for numerous publications including Harper's Bazaar (Russia, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Dubai), Cosmopolitan (Russia), Esquire (Russia), GQ (Russia), and Vogue (Russia), where he conceptualized and styled various fashion and celebrity shoots. In this role, Serge had the opportunity to travel the world's most exotic locales; one of the most memorable being Uzbekistan in the most exotic locales; one of the most memorable being Uzbekistan in the Middle East where he styled the presidents daughter for Russian Vogue.
In Toronto, Serge landed the position of Fashion Editor for Strut Magazine. Here, he could implement both his European influenced styling skills as well his knowledge of working with advertisers. Up until 2011, Serge worked as the Fashion Director of LUSH and then in 2012 he then became the Creative Director at Argyle and Women of Influence magazine.
Serge's interests and talent go beyond on-figure styling. His conceptual techniques and directional focus translate into off-figure styling as well. His dedication, vision and attention to detail have led him to be the go-to stylist for a variety of clients including Holt Renfrew, Harry Rosen, various personalities and leading fashion publications such as FASHION, Glow, Sharp, Globe & Mail Style Advisor, Zoomer, Enroute and Best Health. Serge has also been on the judging panel for 2 consecutive years for the Fashion and Beauty categories for the National Magazine Awards.
